Members of the Zimbabwe Ex-Political Prisoners’ Detainees and Restrictees Association (ZEPPEDRA) across the country’s ten provinces converged in Harare to congratulate President Emmerson Mnangagwa for rising to be the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and First Secretary of the revolutionary party.
ZEPPEDRA members are pinning their hopes on President Mnangagwa to improve their welfare as he understands their plight.
The coming in of the new dispensation has brought a glimpse of hope for many who believe it will yield a turn of fortunes with members of the ZEPPEDRA believing that incumbent President Mnangagwa can improve their welfare.
Speaking during a press conference to congratulate His Excellency Cde Mnangagwa on ascending to the Presidency, national chairperson of the ZEPPEDRA Cde Victor Kuretu said members of the association believe in President Mnangagwa after they went through a lot with him in their quest to free Zimbabwe from colonial bondage.
Cde Solomon Marembo said members of the ZEPPEDRA are yearning to see an improvement of their welfare from a leader who was in the forefront of the liberation of the country while Chief Chiwara from Gutu said President Mnangagwa is the right candidate having sacrificed his life at a tender age in fighting white oppression.
ZEPPEDRA members are yearning to meet the President to table their grievances regarding their welfare.
The members also applauded the President for reading a riot act on externalisation of cash.
