The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is on a drive to improve its operations and has come up with a 5 year strategic plan, which will identify priority areas and core values of the commission.
After coming up with a 5 year strategic plan document, ZEC has re-launched its website, a move which has been described by Justice and Legal Affairs Minister, Cde Patrick Chinamasa as a plan that guarantees quality and timely delivery of electoral services and outcome.
â€œThe management of elections and referendums is not an easy task and requires meticulous planning, efficiency and effectiveness,â€ said Cde Chinamasa, who was officiating at the event which drew invitees from various sectors of the society.
ZEC Chairperson, Justice Simpson Mutambanengwe said the main purpose of the 5 year strategic plan, which will be reviewed in 2015, was to identify priority areas and core values which will enable them to execute their duties effectively.
Zimbabwe is expected to go for the polls sometime this year as alluded to by the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe in the past few months.
