The Zimbabwe Defence Forces say they are ready to host the 38th Heroes and Defence Forces Day celebrations slated for next week Monday and Tuesday the 13th and 14th of August.
Preparations for the 2018 Heroes and Defence Forces Day celebrations are in full swing with a visit to the National Sports Stadium showing display teams engaged in serious rehearsals ahead of the commemorations.
Zimbabwe Defence Forces Director Public Relations Colonel Overson Mugwisi said the preparations are at advanced stages in all the country’s 10 provinces and Zimbabweans must expect a fun-filled family day come next Monday.
“We are ready for the celebrations scheduled for Monday the 13th and Tuesday 14th. We have been going through final paces of our parade rehearsals and today I can say we are done. We are urging the public to come in their numbers. There are new military displays lined up for the event. Alick Macheso and Jah Prayzah will be entertaining the public,” said Colonel Overson Mugwisi.
The Heroes and ZDF Day celebrations are held annually to honour living and fallen heroes and heroines of the liberation war struggle.
