The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) will this Sunday (tomorrow) launch the national languages bulletins to meet government`s requirements that seeks to promote all the 16 national languages in the country.
The Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Dr Chris Mushohwe revealed this during a content creators meeting held in Binga, saying this is part of the digitalisation programme which will incorporate content in all national languages.
Dr Mushohwe extended an invitation to all the 17 chiefs in the district and explained that the content creators need to produce content in their own languages to reverse the misconception that English is superior to local languages.
Delegates who delivered presentations told the content creators to preserve their language and culture so that the enemy has no room to divide the nation.
Content creators who participated in the meeting said the content outreach programmes will help improve the visibility of the district through the 75 percent local content initiative.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services will be distributing set top boxes for free in rural communities to promote access to local radio and television in remote areas.
