Six ZBC journalists scooped top accolades at the National Journalist and Media Awards (NJAMA) held in the capital on Wednesday.

Theophilus Chuma scooped the Mining Journalist of the Year award while Tambaoga Gora won the Photos and Visuals award, Janet Munyaka won the Child Rights Coalition Journalist of the Year award, Phineas Gutu got the Hunger Eradication Journalist of the Year, Regis Mhako was named as the ICT Journalist of the Year, and Patricia Jacob scooped the Maternal Health Journalist of the Year award.

United Nations resident coordinator Bishow Parajuli outlined the importance of journalists in nation building, emphasizing the need of a multi-stakeholder partnership to achieve agenda 2030 and its 217 goals.

Held under the theme: ‘Media For Sustainable Development’, NJAMA is hosted by Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ)  each year  to honour journalists that would have excelled in covering various topics and issues that have a positive impact in the community.
