Several companies from the public and private sectors including the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) scooped awards at the Zimbabwe Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awards held in the capital yesterday.

The awards were based on the contribution they have made towards the attainment of the 17 sustainable development goals.

The CSR awards seek to recognise the outstanding work of businesses that are engaged in making a difference in their communities they operate in.

CSR network of Zimbabwe board member Mrs Lynn Mukonoweshuro emphasized on the need for corporates to assist government in the attainment of sustainable development goals.

Speaking on behalf of guest of honour, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Deputy Governor Dr Jesimen Chipika, RBZ deputy director banking supervision Mrs Anna Siwadi said the central bank remains committed in ensuring support mechanisms for the public to have access to financial inclusion.

Award winners from various corporates including the ZBC, could not hide their excitement for their milestone achievements.

ZBC scooped the best media house supporting CSR initiatives award, Pote Holdings from Zvishavane received excellence in community through volunteering award while Hwange Colliery was awarded excellence through community programmes award.
