The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) continues to build business synergies with the Embassy of South Korea in Zimbabwe, after the office handed over two drama series and committed itself to explore content sharing opportunities with the national broadcaster.
Many will remember the days of the drama series: ‘The Sad Love Story’ that captured the hearts of many.
These moments are set to bounce back on the national broadcaster after the South Korean Embassy handed over two more drama series to the ZBC, namely: ‘The Descendants of the Sun’ and ‘Another Miss Oh.’
The idea behind is to give viewers a cultural exchange platform.
Officially receiving the drama series content at the Pockets Hill studios, ZBC CEO, Mr Patrick Mavhura said content sharing is vital as it gives people an opportunity to explore other cultures.
“It is important for us to have this content sharing and develop our country socially through cultural exchange. It is also our strategic intent to explore more of such opportunities,” he said.
South Korea Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Cho Jaichel said the people of Zimbabwe should enjoy the drama series which have also been featured in other countries like Germany, China, Canada, the USA and the UK.
He noted that the drama series carry messages that build societies and foster good relationships.
“The South Korean culture is now everywhere and it is time for African people to share their cultures to other nations thorough content creation and sharing,” Mr Cho said.
South Korea has transformed its economy by taping abundant revenue from its broadcasting industry backed by strong infrastructural support.
