The Outgoing Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs, Cde Owen Ncube has commended the national broadcaster, ZBC for opening a commercial radio station in the province, saying the station has a wider reach and gives the people a platform to interact for development and progress.

Accompanied by heads of government departments and other senior civil servants, Cde Ncube today toured the new ZBC commercial radio station, Central Radio’s studios in Gweru.

Central Radio is ZBC’s latest baby following the launch of Bulawayo based Khulumani FM which went on air on the 2nd of March this year.

Speaking live on radio, Cde Ncube urged Gweru business people to take advantage of the new station to market their goods and services.

He commended the national broadcaster for taking heed of the people’s plea by launching a new radio station with a wider coverage, and giving the people platform to interact for development and progress.

Central Radio Executive Producer, Dumisani Sibanda took the outgoing Minister and his delegation around the radio station, explaining how the station operates.
