The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) aimed at promoting the role by the private sector and government on economic development.

The signing ceremony took place at a local hotel in the capital this morning.

The MOU which has been signed when manufacturing firms are showing signs of recovery, seeks to enhance cooperation between the industrial body and the national broadcaster in providing information on various industrial developmental issues.

Some of the key issues under spotlight include promotion and coverage of industrial recovery issues, consumer awareness on local products, pricing models, state of capacity utilisation, among other issues.

ZBC Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr Patrick Mavhura says the national broadcaster is committed to promoting industrial recovery.

CZI president Mr Busisa Moyo says the industrial representative body will continue working with ZBC on matters to deal with the contribution of industry to economic development.

In a related development, the CZI unveiled its business ethics charter that also seeks to promote sound corporate governance systems of industries.
