The Agreement for Cooperation between China Central Television (CCTV) and Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has been described as a herald of good development within the two countries’ media fraternity.
This was said by Media, Information and Publicity Minister, Cde Webster Shamu at a banquet held in honour of the visiting Chinese Vice Minister of State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Mr. Li Wei at a local hotel.
Cde Shamu called on China and Zimbabwe to harness their strengths in the area of collecting and disseminating information.
ZBC News and Current Affairs General Manager, Tazzen Mandizvidza described ZBC‘s memorandum of cooperation with CCTV as a signal that the public broadcaster is on its way to asserting its presence as an international broadcaster.
The agreement will see the two broadcasters exchanging news and current affairs programmes in what experts say will be a defining stage in the Sino–Zim relations which continue growing from strength to strength.
