The Zimbabwe Baseball Association (ZBA) is set to host the Dream Cup interprovincial championships at Victoria High School in Masvingo between the 9th and 10th of December.
6 active provinces namely, Bulawayo, Midlands, Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland West and defending champions Harare will battle it out in the tournament that is also used as a selection platform for the national team.
ZBA president, Morris Banda revealed that the country was on the verge of ensuring there is improvement by the national team when taking part in regional and international competitions.
The sport of baseball in the country recorded constant growth until the economic meltdown that saw a number of experienced players leaving the country for greener pastures.
The baseball mother body has been on a drive to revive the sport with 6 provinces actively participating.
While baseball is generally expensive as the playing equipment is largely imported, donor support from organisations like the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has ensured it does not die.
