The call was made by the party’s National Secretary for the Commissariat, Cde Webster Shamu while officiating at the Zanu PF Bulawayo inter-district Provincial Conference held at Stanley Square.

Cde Shamu reaffirmed the Zanu PF position that elections should be held this year adding that the party is not happy that MDC-T is delaying the constitution making process in an attempt to delay elections.

He said his party is confident that the referendum on the new constitution will be held soon to pave way for the national polls.

Cde Shamu said there is need for the government to inject more resources to Bulawayo to revive industry while accelerating the Indigenisation programme.

Cde Shamu, who is also the Minister of Media Information and Publicity took a swipe at the Bulawayo Municipality for its high charges to stall holders at Khothama boutique saying the charges must be reviewed downwards to support enterprising business people.

Cde Shamu also commended the party ‘s leadership in Bulawayo for managing to unite party members in the province.
