The Zanu PF Women’s League has condemned as regrettable utterances attributed to former president Mr Robert Mugabe attacking President Emmerson Mnangagwa for allegedly brutalising people saying the nonagenarian is out of touch with reality and must enjoy his pension and leave his predecessor to sort out the mess he left during his four decades of rule.

The sentiments by the Women’s League came during the first meeting for the national executive held at the onset of the year to map out programmes and projects to benefit women and the girl child.

Mr Mugabe was responsible for destroying the country during his reign and also instilling fear and this has been reversed by President Mnangagwa in a short time and Mr Mugabe must be warned to let the country move on, said the Zanu PF Deputy Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Angeline Masuku.

The party’s Women’s League Secretary for Administration Cde Monica Mutsvangwa weighed in commending the league’s bosses for setting the record straight.

Cde Marble Chinomona who is the Zanu PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs concluded by encouraging the national executive members to encourage women in the grassroots to take up government sponsored programmes and projects to uplift themselves from the claws of poverty and to remain united.

The Women’s League executive also held closed door deliberations to set out their plan of action for the year which they will share with their support base countrywide.

The meeting was also a platform for the Women’s League top brass to keep the executive abreast of developments on the economic and political fronts in the country.
