The President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has told the people of Mashonaland Central Province that the revolutionary party, Zanu PF, will forever cherish their unwavering support during the armed struggle and after  until today.

Speaking at Goora Shrine run by Wadzibaba Majenista also known as Madzibaba Wimbo, President Mnangagwa said part of his coming to Mashonaland Central was to pay homage to the province which never betrayed Zanu PF.

He said his government will soon come up with a modern economy which will accord artisanal miners professional mining skills and places them in groups at the same time offering machinery and consultancy so that they carry out their mining activities viably and in an environmentally friendly manner.

Mashonaland Central is one of the country’s number one producers of cotton but the President noted that it is disappointing that only 30 percent is consumed locally while the bulk is exported as raw material.

He however said this will soon become history as factories to spin the cotton will be put in place so that the country benefits from its product by adding value addition.

President Mnangagwa also disclosed that the party will appoint three people from Mashonaland Central to be members of the Politburo after consultations with the province.

On the coming harmonised elections, President Mnangagwa urged the thousands of congregates who came to hear him address them that they should go in their numbers and vote for the ruling party which is a tried and tested party.

The President reiterated that the forthcoming elections must be held in peace and should be free, fair and credible.
