The ruling Zanu PF party has dispatched a delegation to Mozambique to deliver a congratulatory message to President Filipe Nyuse who has been elected head of the revolutionary Frelimo party.
President Nyusi took over the helm of the party from Mozambique’s former president, Armando Guebuza.
Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo is the head of delegation to the Frelimo congress which started on Monday and ends on Friday.
Speaking before departure, Dr Chombo told the ZBC News that he will deliver the revolutionary party’s solidarity message and President Mugabe’s congratulatory message to President Nyusi.
Mozambique and Zimbabwe share cordial relations, which date back to the liberation struggle where Mozambique provided bases and resources for thousands of Zimbabwean freedom fighters during the liberation struggle.
Dr Chombo is accompanied by Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzanayi Chipanga, Cde Mandi Chimene representing war veterans and other officials.
