The 312th ordinary session of the Zanu PF politburo is underway at the party headquarters in Harare this Wednesday.
The session, which takes place when the ruling party is preparing for the 17th annual National People’s Conference and at a time Zimbabwe is preparing for the summer cropping season, is expected to discuss how far the organisation has gone in terms of preparations and examine what is yet to be done.
A venue for the conference to be held in Gwanda, Matabeleland South, has already been identified and work is yet to be done to spruce up the infrastructure.
The Secretary for Administration Dr Ignatius Chombo is expected to give an update on the progress on conference preparations followed by a report on external relations.
Zanu PF recently sent a delegation to Luanda to witness the inauguration of new Angolan president who replaced former leader Jose Eduardo Dos Santos.
Secretary for Commissariat Cde Saviour Kasukuwere is expected to present a report on what the party is doing to mobilise for 2018 harmonised elections.
The party has established a committee to mobilise people to go and register to vote under the biometric voter registration system.
