Cde Shamu was speaking during the launch of the Green Revolution Programme being spearheaded by Libya to boost agriculture in the country.

It was a hive of activity at Imojeni Shopping Centre in Chegutu East as hundreds of ZANU PF supporters converged to witness the launch of the Green Revolution Agricultural Programme.

The programme being spearheaded by Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi to enhance food security through agriculture in Africa, saw Cde Shamu, the ZANU PF leadership including traditional leaders and Libyan deputy ambassador, Ahmed Ali and his delegation availing 9 tractors and their implements to hundreds of ZANU PF supporters to enable them boost land preparations in Chegutu East.

Accepting the donation by the Libyan government, Cde Shamu, who is also ZANU PF National Political Commissar, lashed out at MDC-T for attempting to effect a regime change in Zimbabwe saying ZANU PF as a revolutionary party will not allow sellouts to rule this country come elections.

The Libyan deputy ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ahmed Ali and Chief of Protocol in the President’s Office, Ambassador Munyaradzi Kajese, commended the green revolution programme saying it symbolises the strengthening of the good relations between Zimbabwe and Libya which date back to the days of the liberation struggle.

The programme of mechanised agriculture by the Libyan government has so far benefited 3 000 families in the past two years and the launch of the green revolution in Chegutu east is expected to increase the number of families benefiting as relations between the two countries continue to move from strength to strength.
