PF Mashonaland East provincial chairman Cde Joel Biggie Matiza says the party is geared to surpass the figures attained by the party during the harmonised elections in the Mutoko North bye-election set for the 24th of this month.

Zanu PF candidate for Mutoko North constituency in the harmonised elections Cde Marble Chinomona polled 16 900 votes a figure Cde Matiza said they want to surpass during the coming bye-election.

He made the remarks at the Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held at Mutoko Centre.

“As a party we promise that we want to win the seat resoundingly and surpass the figure attained by our candidate Cde Chinomona in July to send a message that Zanu PF is a giant,” said Cde Matiza.

The Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial chairman said there is no excuse for failure as the party is now well resourced under the new dispensation.

“Our party has done very well in terms of resource allocation so there is no excuse for failure this time,” Cde Matiza said.

The Mutoko North seat fell vacant after the election of Cde Chinomona as Senate president.

Cde Rambidzai Nyabote will face Bonnie Mushore of MDC Alliance and Edson Mugoma of the NCA.
