Zanu PF has assured Cowdray Park residents and the city of Bulawayo that it is embarking on extensive programmes to improve service delivery.
Speaking at a victory celebration in Cowdray Park following the last week’s council by-election won by the ruling party’s candidate, Cde Kidwell Mujuru, Zanu PF Politburo member, Cde Tshinga Dube said the government is ready to work towards improving service delivery in Cowdray Park.
“Now that we have won the council seat from the MDC, it is time for improved service delivery. Our councillor will have more power than all others here in Bulawayo because he will be able to approach the government more than them,” he said.
The Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs, Cde Judith Ncube promised Cowdray Park residents a solar project that will improve the supply of electricity.
The newly elected councilor, Cde Mujuru said he will work hard to transform the Cowdray Park community.
Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Cde Obert Mpofu, who was the guest speaker at the event, said leaders in the party must work towards winning more seats in Bulawayo.
Cde Mujuru won by 1899 votes in the by-election, defeating 18 other candidates.
