Zanu PF Matabeleland North Province has intensified preparations for President Robert Mugabe’s visit to the province under the banner of Presidential Youth Interface rally, before the end of July.
Provincial and National Youth League executives met in Lupane this Sunday morning to discuss the preparations.
Matabeleland North Province is scheduled to host the President after the third Presidential Youth Interface in Masvingo scheduled for the end of this month.
The target is to ensure that each of the seven districts in Matabeleland North Province mobilises 10 000 youths who will attended the rally.
Discussions are still underway to select the host district and the final decision will be announced during the provincial coordinating committee meeting on the 1st of July. Various committees are being set up at district and provincial levels to immediately commence the preparations.
Zanu PF Matabeleland North Provincial Chairman, Cde Richard Moyo said a provincial executive meeting has been scheduled for the 24th of this month where the provincial youth executive is expected to present to the main wing, the progress it has made so far.
“We will meet as the provincial executive this Friday and we will invite the Minister of State Cde Cain Mathema and the Provincial Administrator so that he can link us with the government departments because we will need their assistance during the preparations for the rally,” said Cde Moyo.
The provincial youth executive is expected to visit all the districts by Friday this week to meet and discuss various concerns which are expected to be presented to the party’s First Secretary and President during the interface rally.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that the national youth executive will provide tents and t-shirts for the rally.
