The Zanu PF leadership in Masvingo province had a get together meeting aimed at fostering unity among party cadres.
The meeting also interrogated on programmes that the party leadership can explore for its members.
The party`s National Commissar, Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje’s homestead in Bikita was the venue for the get together which was attended by Politburo and Central Committee members from the province.
“Cultivating a culture of informal meetings among the leadership is one way of ensuring unity and eradicating factionalism and these meetings will be held on a regular basis,” said Retired Lieutenant General Rugeje.
The commissar`s sentiments were echoed by Cde Lovemore Matuke, a Politburo member, who also stressed the need for people to work together in order to achieve set targets.
Another Politburo member, Cde Josiah Hungwe challenged the provincial leadership to fast-track the implementation of projects at Tokwe Mukosi dam, given that people in the province are expecting to see the benefits of having such a huge water body.
Masvingo Minister of State, Cde Ezra Chadzamira assured the province that he will work hard for the benefit of people of Masvingo, adding achieving a prosperous economy requires coordination among the leadership.
“Achieving a prosperous economy starts with such meetings. It is only when we work together like this that we can succeed,” he said.
The meetings will be held on a rotational basis, with each leader getting a chance to host their colleagues.
