A re-run of the elections to choose a substantive chairman for the Zanu PF Masvingo Province were conducted today with results expected later this evening.

The elections were initially held in February but the results were nullified after some districts failed to vote due to logistical challenges owing to bad weather.

Cdes Ezra Chadzamira and Mutero Masanganise are battling it out for the post.

The elections retaining officer Ambassador Cain Mathema said the elections were held in a peaceful manner with no reports of violence.

“The elections are going on well, we delivered ballot papers to all the districts and we are now awaiting the results,” says Ambassador Mathema.

In the February elections Cde Chadzamira had secured over 12 000 votes, while Cde Masanganise had received over 4000 votes.

Results are expected later this evening.
