Zanu PF National Political Commissar Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje has urged Mashonaland Central leadership to foster unity and ensure a resounding victory for the revolutionary party in the forthcoming harmonised elections.
The need for a clean sweep by the revolutionary party at the forthcoming harmonised elections was underscored during celebrations for the appointment of Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrence Shiri as the Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement in the new government and as a party’s politburo member.
Addressing friends, relatives and the political leadership in Mashonaland Central, guest of honour at the celebrations Retired Lieutenant General Rugeje said the province must maintain the culture of winning elections in all constituencies.
Political heavy weights in Mashonaland Central expressed their desire to work with Minister Shiri for the development of the country.
The Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Minister said promoting unity is key in ensuring victory for Zanu PF in the general elections to be held later this year.
Mashonaland Central Province has been divided along factional lines and the expulsion of the G40 cabal has breathed a new lease of life to the revolutionary party.
