The Zanu PF Manicaland provincial executive council has unanimously passed a resolution that the National Political Commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere be relieved from his post.

The decision was unanimously reached during the provincial council meeting which was held in Mutare.

The Youth and Women’s League endorsed the resolution.

Cde Kasukuwere is being accused of undermining the President and First Secretary of the party and for fuelling factionalism.

The position was announced by the provincial chairman Dr Samuel Undenge and seconded by the Youth League, Women’s League, with war veterans and war collaborators.

During the extra-ordinary meeting the Women’s League and the Youth League also accused Women’s League national secretary for administration Cde Letina Undenge for interfering in their affairs.

Tempers flare and the situation nearly degraded into chaos as accusations against Cde Undenge mount, and the situation nearly got out of hand when youths charged towards Cde Christopher Chingosho the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing following utterances which accused national secretary for Youth League Cde Kudzai Chipanga of creating parallel structures in Headlands and he had to flee from the meeting.

Zanu PF provincial spokesperson Cde Oliver Mandipaka said the issue of Cde Undenge has been referred to the Women’s League to table all their grievances to the province, which are in turn expected to forward the issues to the national Women’s League.

Meanwhile, after the extra ordinary provincial coordination meeting, the province passed a vote of no confidence against the Zanu PF Manicaland provincial chairman Dr Samuel Undenge.

Zanu PF deputy provincial chairperson Cde Joseph Mujati made the announcement, which was seconded by the Youth League chairperson Cde Mbuso Chinguno and Cde Beauty Benge, deputy chairlady of the Women’s League.

More than 30 provincial members were reportedly to have signed the vote of no confidence petition.
