The Zanu PF Secretary for Administration and Home Affairs Minister, Dr Ignatius Chombo has called for unity and discipline among its members as the party prepares for the 2018 harmonised elections.

Dr Chombo made the call at the official opening of a Zanu PF workshop held in Lupane.

As the party switches to election campaign mode, Zanu PF members have been urged to avoid petty fights and instead work together and concentrate on ensuring that it remains unbeatable during the 2018 general elections.

Dr Chombo urged Zanu PF members to shun factionalism, regionalism and triabalism if the party is to successfully continue leading the country for another term, adding the party has structures for conflict resolution at every level hence the need to need to resolve differences amicably.

“As for Zanu PF, there is no other option but to win this election by a margin that leaves no doubt that we are the dominant political party in this country. A thunderous victory will send a clear and strong message to all and sundry that Zanu PF means serious business. Our win will also put to shame all local and foreign detractors who year-in and year-out cry foul when Zanu PF wins elections,” he said.

Zanu PF National Political Commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere and Secretary for Information and Publicity Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo concurred with Dr Chombo adding expelled members will not achieve anything by making inflammatory statements through various media platforms.

“So we as Zanu PF leadership will not tolerate people who insult the leadership of the party. If you have been expelled for whatever reason comrades, we have a national appeal committee chaired by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko. There is no arbitrary firing of people,” said Cde Kasukuwere.

The one day workshop was organised by the commissariat department, to educate the party members on the importance of voter registration among other things.
