The revolutionary Zanu PF party says it is capturing details of all members in a bid to encourage those within its structures to vote and ensure a resounding victory in the 2018 elections.
The party’s Deputy National Political Commissar, Cde Omega Hungwe, who was addressing Zanu PF members in Mutare, said by March, the exercise to capture details of party members will cascade to the provincial level, in a move set to make the party a formidable force ahead of the elections.
Other speakers who include Manicaland Minister of State, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa and Zanu PF Manicaland Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mike Madiro concurred that the party stands guided by the need for a rapid economic turnaround, which will lead to improved livelihoods for all Zimbabweans.
Since assuming power, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been on a mission to re-engage the international community as well as send positive signals for economic growth synonymous with the leadership rebirth the country has had.
Meanwhile, the Zanu PF Youth League will this Saturday launch an election strategy dubbed #edhasmyvote as the revolutionary party prepares for the forthcoming harmonised elections.
Speaking during a media briefing in Harare today, Zanu PF Youth League Seceretary for Information, Cde Yeukai Simbanegavi said the strategy is meant to encourage youths to embrace a voting culture to strengthen democracy.
Cde Simbanegavi, who is also the legislator for Gutu-Masvingo Constituency, said after the launch of the election campaign strategy, a gala involving top artists will be staged on a free entry charge.
Riding on the backborne that youths are technologically sound, the election campaign strategy will offer an interactive platform that will assist the party in gathering feedback. In view of the fact that youths are a critical component of the demographic group, youths across all sections are invited to attend the event.
