With the Zanu PF Annual National People’s Conference kicking off at Mary Mount Teachers College in Mutare this week, Ambassador Moyo has called upon party cadres to brace for competition in the next primary elections as the party is aiming to select candidates, backed by the people and able to measure up and gunner seats in order for the party to win the forthcoming elections by a landslide.

Cde Khaya Moyo castigated nepotism and said candidates should be chosen on merit and popular vote.

“We will all be going for the primary elections including myself. I I lose, I will step down and support the candidate who would have been chosen, what is important is to capture seats,” said Cde Moyo.

The party leadership had an opportunity to meet Zanu PF chairpersons of several districts as well as the Manicaland leadership for a brief on progress made so far in preparing for the conference.

Zanu Pf National Commissar, Cde Webster Shamu, called for discipline and unity of purpose in order for the Conference to run smoothly and achieve its objectives.

In line with the party’s drive to empower indigenous Zimbabweans, the 11th Zanu PF National People’s Conference will run from the 15th to the 19th of December under the theme, ‘Total Control of Our Resources Through Indigenisation.”
