Zimbabwe joined the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa Youths Day yesterday where youths were urged to be drivers of economic development in Africa.

The 1st of November each year is set aside to commemorate Africa Youths Day.

The 2017 celebrations themed, “Harnessing Demographic Dividend through Investment in Youth” saw the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, Cde Chiratidzo Mabuwa pledging to continue assisting with programmes that ensure youths are empowered.

The purpose of the Africa Youth Day is to promote an increased recognition of youths as they are the main agents for social change and economic growth.
