saviour-kasukuwere1.jpgGovernment has revealed that preparations for the third ordinary session of the conference of the African Union Ministers in Charge of the Youth portfolio to be held in Victoria Falls next week are at an advanced stage with delegates already arriving into the country.

 

The 3rd session of the conference of the African Union Ministers in Charge of Youth to be held next week has attracted at least 250 delegates from different countries across the continent.

 

The session is expected to help strengthen the youth development agenda in Zimbabwe while providing opportunities to market the country and portray its true image to other African nations.

 

Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister Cde Savior Kasukuwere said the conference is going to provide a platform for ministers, senior government officials, experts and youth leaders to discuss youth development issues and concerns in Africa.

 

Pan African Youth Union Secretary General Mr. Maquento Lopes who is already in the country for the conference said that the session is very crucial as experts on youths will get a chance to appreciate the needs of young people and how best to fulfil them.

The hosting of the ordinary session of the conference of the African Union Ministers in Charge of Youth to be held in Zimbabwe is going to strengthen and confirm the country’s leading role in youth development initiatives in the continent.

 

It comes at a time youths are organising themselves in order to benefit from the implementation of the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act.
