Hundreds of youth volunteers in Mashonaland Central Province are set to participate in various infrastructural and rehabilitation projects under the Youth Build Zimbabwe programme.

The Ministry of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment has forged a Youth Build Zimbabwe partnership with the Mashonaland Central District Development Fund (DDF).

Under the initiative, youth volunteers will participate in various infrastructure and rehabilitation programmes being carried out by the parastatal.

DDF Mashonaland Central provincial coordinator, Mr Clement Mutombo expressed optimism that the Youth Build Zimbabwe programme will assist with road rehabilitation after the huge damages caused by the incessant rains this year.

Mashonaland Central Minister of State, Advocate Martin Dinha who was represented by the provincial administrator, Mr Cosmas Chiringa at the launch held at Hora Drift in Bindura commended the alliance saying such partnerships show unity and testify a sense of responsibility by the youth to advance development.

The Youth Build Zimbabwe programme is modelled along the Food for Work initiative which falls under the ZIM ASSET cluster of infrastructure development and utilities.
