The national Under 17 national soccer team for the 2017 COSAFA Youth Championship held their final training session at Prince Edward School in the capital under the watchful eye of head coach Moses “Razorman” Chunga and his technical team.
The U-17 national football team is scheduled to leave for Mauritius early Wednesday morning for the COSAFA youth championship.
Parents were busy submitting all supporting documents required for the boys to travel such as affidavits among other documents while the team went through its paces in the capital.
Chunga says he has prepared the team well and is looking forward to a good tournament in Mauritius with the 18 schoolboys selected for national duty.
Some of the parents who witnessed the final training session were excited about their kids trip to Mauritius.
The Zimbabwe U-17 was selected following nationwide trials and players had to undergo an MRI scan to confirm that they were indeed under 17 to avoid age cheats.
Zimbabwe was drawn together with hosts Mauritius, whom they face in their opening match on the 21st.
