The two teams square off in the first round first leg encounter in Abekouta, Nigeria this Saturday.

Giwa said he is confident that after undergoing weeks of intense preparations in Hwange, the Young Mighty Warriors will upset the Young Falconets away in Nigeria’s MKO Abiola Stadium.

Speaking at a send off ceremony in the capital this Tuesday afternoon, Giwa highlighted the experience gained by her charges in recent months, saying it will be crucial in upstaging their West African opponents.

Speaking at the same occasion, ZIFA President, Cuthbert Dube challenged the Young Mighty Warriors to come back home with a positive result, urging the players to develop a thick skin given the hostile conditions Zimbabwean teams often have to go through in West Africa.

The team is set to leave on Wednesday morning via South Africa, where they will catch a connecting flight to Nigeria.

To book a date with Nigeria, Zimbabwe overcame Botswana 3-1 on aggregate before convincingly beating Mozambique 7-0.
