The Zimbabwe under 19 cricket team succumbed to a 7 wicket defeat to Australia in their second group encounter held in Lincoln, New Zealand last night.
After losing the toss, the Young Chevrons struggled with the bat.
It took only 33 overs for Australia to bowl Zimbabwe out as the Young Chevrons collapsed to 134 all out in 33.2 overs.
Save for Robert Chimhinya who fell for 27, none of the Zimbabwean bastmen really showed up in a disappointing innings in which Xavier Bartlett led the way for Australia with figures of 3 for 20.
With a paltry total to defend, Zimbabwe took 3 wickets as Australia raced to an emphatic 7 wicket win.
Opener, Max Bryant top scored with 44, while Jack Edwards posted 40 runs.
In the end, Zimbabwe’s total proved far from competitive as the Young Chevrons lost their second Group B encounter.
Zimbabwe will now clash against India in their last group encounter.
