The Zanu PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Marble Chinomona has called on her charges to uphold high standards of moral values and pass these on to the girl child.
Cde Chinomona told members of the organ during one of her tours to help in preserving the values of Zimbabwean culture and heritage.
She said the family unit has certain roles that are gender specific and have to be respected.
Cde Chinomona added that couples should seek amicable solutions to issues of infidelity rather than compete in having extra marital relationships.
The Women’s League boss also took aim at mothers who don’t provide proper parental guidance to the girl child, forcing such children into prostitution.
“Some of the women compete with their husbands in engaging in extra marital affairs. Mothers don’tyou’re your children especially girls go out not properly dressed. Some engage in elicit bahaviours because of the way we raise them, women let’s learn to uphold our morals and values,” she said.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Mashonaland West Cde Webster Shamu told the Women’s League of the rampant dropouts from school of the girl child in Nyaminyami, Kariba rural.
“We have challenges of girls who are dropping out school and engage in early marriages especially in Nyaminyami,” said Cde Shamu.
The Women’s League meeting called for the re-engagement of those who were sidelined from political activity by the old dispensation.
