The Minister of Provincial Affairs for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Cde Eunice Sandi-Moyo has urged women to continue working hard for the development of the country no matter how big the challenges they face in society.

Bulawayo’s central business district was this Friday (today) a hive of activity as people in the City of Kings and Queens took to the streets to celebrate the belated International Women’s Day.

Officiating at the function, Cde Sandi-Moyo urged women to humble themselves and continue working hard for development.

“I  urge you women not to tire in whatever you do. We might face challenges in whatever we do but you need to continue shining. You must be beautiful, smart and brainy thus what defines a complete woman. We also need to pray to God for guidance in whatever we do,” she said.

Bulawayo Mayor Councillor Martin Moyo who also graced the occasion had a word of advice for men to respect women for the hard work they do everyday.

“Celebration of women is a noble idea. I have a word for us men in society, we need to understand that we cannot do much without women. They take care of us everyday and as such let us respect them,” said Mayor Councillor Moyo.

The International Women’s Day was officially recognised on the 8th of March and was running under the theme ‘Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030’.
