Founder and leader of Mushamukadzi Foundation Mrs Mary Chiwenga has commended the participation of women in this year’s Zanu PF primary elections which shows that women are ready to take up leadership positions.
Mrs Chiwenga who was at Marikopo Secondary School to drum up support for her mother, Mrs Helga Mubaiwa, who is vying for Seke constituency in the Zanu PF primaries told the ZBC News that it is encouraging to note that women have come out in their numbers to participate in the elections set for Sunday (tomorrow).
“I am impressed by the number of women who are taking part in the party’s primary elections which shows that women are ready to take up leadership positions in society,” she said.
The aspiring Seke constituency candidate Mrs Helga Mubaiwa said it’s time women take up leadership positions in society.
“For a long time we have lived in the shadows of our male counterparts and it’s now time get involved in developmental issues,” noted the aspiring candidate.
Mrs Mubaiwa will be battling it out against incumbent Phineas Chihota, Munyaradzi Kashambe, Dananai Chikanya and Godfrey Mawarure.
