Budiriro widows have appealed for government intervention, raising concerns of exorbitant charges in changing title deeds of property which they say have left many of them vulnerable.

The concerns were raised during an interactive meeting between Budiriro widows and Zanu PF candidate for the constituency Cde Godwin Gomwe.

The widows also accused the city fathers of failing to provide quality services to residents, also citing corruption by some council officials.

Cde Gomwe said they have since engaged a legal representative to look into the matter and ensure the widows’ rights are not infringed.

Zanu PF Women’s League Secretary for Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, Ms Magreth Sithole said they are aware of challenges faced by vulnerable women and they are confident that they will be addressed under the new dispensation.

The ruling Zanu PF party is poised for a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections courtesy of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s impressive performance in reviving the economy since he took office in November last year.
