heavy-rainfall.jpgThe Meteorological Services Department says the current dry spell being experienced in most parts of the country is expected to end next week when normal rains are expected to resume.

Head of the Rainfall Section, Mr Tirivanhu Muhwati says some areas in the northern parts of the country have been receiving sporadic rains since the beginning of this month, while there were no rains in most parts os the country.

“Most parts of the country have not received rainfall since the beginning of February,” Mr Muhwati said.

He said Matabeleland, Masvingo and parts of the Midlands have been the most affected areas adding that normal rains are expected to resume on the 19th of this month.

The country normally experiences the mid season dry spell during the first two weeks of January.

However this year, January was a wet month with the country receiving above normal rainfall.
