The Wedza community has embraced the mono-currency regime introduced by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube last week.

Those who spoke to ZBC News at constituency feedback rallies organised by Wedza south legislator Cde Tino Machakaire said they are confident the move will bring an end to price distortions which had seen the cost of basic commodities skyrocketing beyond the reach of many.

Cde Machakaire and Zanu PF provincial member Stanley Mapako, told the residents that the new currency regime shows that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is on course to revive the economy.

“The introduction of the single currency is a clear indication of how committed President Mnangagwa’s administration is to economic revival,” he said, while Mapako said: “i urge you all to embrace the new economic policies which are set to improve people’s lives”.

The rallies which saw Cde Machakaire handing over basic foodstuffs to the people were held at Mount St Mary’s, St Annes Goto and Chigondo.
