The Women’s Coalition in Zimbabwe (WCoZ) has come up with a programme to empower women in Marondera through engaging in collective activism on issues affecting women.

In an effort to ensure women are equipped to deal with issues affecting them in society, WCoZ had a one day sensitisation workshop with the Marondera Chapter.

Issues under discussion included, understanding advocacy, communication and leadership, constitutional provisions for advocacy and gender based violence among others.

The participants who were led by WCoZ Marondera Chapter chairperson Anesu Chirewa welcomed the programme which they said had empowered them and were now better informed.

“This programme has left us more enlightened and empowered we are now able deal with some issues affecting us on a daily basis,” she said.

The event was also attended by members from the Young Women’s Forum Marondera Chapter.
