The Zimbabwe team that went to participate at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) returned home with high expectations that they will bring more medals home at the next world championships.
Some of the team players said the experience at the World Championships were dreams come true as they scooped a number of medals and were well equipped at the same time which will help them grow in the arts sector.
Team coach and co-founder of the Zimbabwe Championships of Performing Arts Nyarayi Jessica Tandy highlighted that after their performance at the world championships there is need for more skills development.
Minister of Youths, Sport, Arts and Recreation Honourable Kazembe Kazembe awarded the team certificates in the capital this Wednesday (yesterday) and commended them for raising the country’s flag high.
Meanwhile, the Director in the Ministry of Youths, Sport, Arts and Recreation Dr Biggie Samwanda concurred with Minister Kazembe that the launch of the National Arts Culture and Heritage Policy will help grow the arts industry.
