More than 1 000 residents are set to benefit from a borehole that is being drilled at Cowdray Park high density suburb in Bulawayo.

For the past seven years, some parts of Cowdray Park have been relying on community water taps for domestic use, a challenge to the local residents since they have to travel long distances to get water at the water points.

Speaking to ZBC News, the Zanu PF candidate for Luveve constituency, Cde Garikai Zonde said the need to drill a borehole for the Cowdray Park community is a way to improve the social services of the area.

Some of the Cowdray Park residents thanked Cde Zonde for the borehole saying this gesture will help them improve their livelihoods especially in adapting new projects such as market gardening.

Cde Zonde said he wants to improve the roads and power situation so as to ensure that the living standards of residents get better.
