water crisis.jpgA health hazard is looming in Gweru’s Senga high density suburb, following disruptions to the area’s water supply that which has seen some parts of the suburb go for more than three months without water.

 

Speaking to ZBC News, residents in the area appealed to the city authorities to rectify the situation in the highly populated area.

 

Students at the adjacent Midlands State University also expressed concern at the situation, noting that their studies are being negatively affected as they are losing study time while looking for water.

As a result of the water crisis, residents have resorted to digging wells at their homesteads with others making use of boreholes that were sunk by a local non governmental organization.

Senga suburb has a high population density resulting from the fact that a sizeable number of students and staff from Midlands State University reside in the area.
