water crisis.jpgHarare residents have expressed dismay at council’s shoddy service delivery which has seen most of the capital’s western suburbs going without water due to burst water pipes that have not been attended.

Residents of Harare’s western suburbs who have been facing water woes for the past few days have expressed anger over council’s failure to repair burst pipes which have spewing large volumes of clean water along Willowvale Road.

“When I came here this morning I was enraged to see the amount of clean water being lost through a burst pipe yet we have not been having water for several days,” said one resident.

Contacted for comment, Harare City Council spokesperson, Mr. Leslie Gwindi said burst pipes are not the major reason for the water supply problems but attributed water shortage in the capital to lack of pumping capacity due to frequent power cuts.
