South Africa says it is ready to help Zimbabwe ease electricity challenges which have characterised the country for the past four months.

This came out after a bilateral meeting between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his South African counterpart President Cyril Ramaphosa in Niamey Niger.

President Ramaphosa said they discussed a wide range of issues with strong emphasis on the energy situation in Zimbabwe which has seen the country being hit by massive load shedding.

He added that Zimbabwe has also paid up the debt that they owed the South African power utility Eskom.
