Zimbabweans are known to be firm, confident and unwavering , attributes that can be traced to the late nationalist and former president Robert Mugabe who died at the age of 95 in Singapore on Friday.
As Zimbabweans mourn the passing on of this fearless leader his contribution in economic empowerment, education and racial injustice will be cherished forever.
Small to Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) say the late former President Robert Mugabe will be remembered for fighting for Zimbabwe’s political and economic independence.
“He left us a legacy of economic empowerment. He encouraged us to open our own businesses and without his leadership, we could not have been where we are,” said one of the entrepreneurs.
Others say they were empowered through former President Mugabe’s education policies.
“We are all educated and it was through Cde Mugabe that Zimbabwe is proud of having a high literacy rate in Africa,” said another person.
As the nation mourns the death of the liberation icon, Cde Mugabe will forever be remembered for his unwavering stance in fighting against imperialism, racial injustice and economic imbalances and for his vision to see a united Africa brought together by the common goal to defend the interests of the continent.
