zim-warriors.jpgThe Warriors squad to face Swaziland in an African Nations Championship qualifier in Mbabane on Sunday has been trimmed to 18.

The players in the final squad of 18 include goalkeepers Edmore Sibanda and Washington Arubi, defenders Zepheniah Ngodzo, George Karimupfumbi, Method Mwanjali, Dumiso Khanye, Gilbert Mapemba, Daniel Vheremu and Bhekimpilo Ncube. The midfield department will comprise Thabani Kamusoko, Elvis Meleka, Ali Sadiki, Tafadzwa Rusike, Ramson Zhuwawo and Ashley Rambanepasi while strikers Nyasha Mushekwi, Cuthbert Malajila and Richard Mteki complete the 18 man squad.

The surprise exclusion is Gunners shot stopper and 2009 goalkeeper of the year Tafadzwa Dube whose penalty stopping ability is an asset to any coach.

Team captain Method Mwanjali however expressed optimism in the team’s chances of upstaging Sihlangu in their backyard.

The Warriors who are scheduled to depart for Swaziland will be hoping for a positive result to set the tone for the return leg which will be played in a fortnight.
