Zimbabwe Warriors’ preparations to defend the COSAFA championship are well on course despite the team missing four key players who are expected to join the team this Wednesday ahead of their departure to South Africa on Thursday.

The Warriors will kick start their COSAFA title defence from the quarter-final stage on Sunday against Group B winners.

Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzamba believes the sky is the limit for the Warriors who are still basking in COSAFA glory after landing the fifth regional championship last year.

“As the technical team, we are satisfied by the preparations although we are missing four regular players in skipper Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, Tino Kadewere and Costa Nhamoinesu,” said Chidzambwa.

The quartet is expected to join camp tomorrow.

After lamenting the absence of a holding midfielder, Chidzambwa’s technical team which comprises of Rahman Gumbo and Lloyd Mutasa believes youngster Richard Hachiro and Orlando Pirates’ most wanted gem, Marshal Munetsi can do duty for the Warriors.

Zimbabwe also boasts of the services of goalkeeper George Chigova, Ovidy Karuru , workhorse Abbas Amidu and Talent Chawapihwa who stole the limelight in last year’s  competition as well as Ngezi Platinum man of moment, Terrence Dzukamanja.
