Zimbabwe’s Warriors strengthened their control of Group G in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers after drawing 1-all with the DRC, while Liberia beat Congo Brazzaville 2-1 to revive their chances of qualification.

Playing under flood lights at the packed giant National Sports Stadium in Harare this evening, Khama Billiat put the Warriors in front in just under 2 minutes but an own goal from Teenage Hadebe denied the Warriors maximum points.

Zimbabwe still lead the group with eight points, while DRC are second on five points, while Congo Brazaville and Liberia are tied on four points.

With two teams qualifying for Cameroon 2019 from each group, a win away to Liberia on the 18th of November will seal qualification for the Warriors.
