The Zimbabwe national soccer team’s head of delegation, Retired Brigadier General Elliot Kasu has hailed the treatment they have received from their hosts after arriving in Cape Verde on Wednesday evening, pointing out that the Warriors are fired up and ready for Saturday’s showdown with the Atlantic Ocean Islanders.

After arriving on Wednesday evening, the Warriors conducted their first training session on Thursday morning.

The Warriors head of delegation also said he had met with the Cape Verde Football Association’s president and vice-president in a meeting where both parties expressed concern over allegations that Liberia and Mali are attempting to engage in match-fixing.

The Warriors clash with the Blue Sharks at 5pm Zimbabwean time on Saturday.

For Zimbabwe to qualify for AFCON 2012, they need to beat Cape Verde and hope Liberia hold Mali to at least a draw.
